Chionochloa rubra , known commonly as red tussock grass, is a large, distinctive red-tinged tussock. The flowing form is impressive in exposed windy sites. Handles damper and low fertility soils, however, does best in cool, wet sites. Attractive seedheads borne from February to April. Evergreen. Hardy.
